ISPO Grants Continued Recognition to Prosthetics and Orthotics Distance Learning Upgrading Program in South East Europe delivered by Human Study e.V.
The distance learning program “Improving the Quality of Prosthetic and Orthotic Services in South East Europe”, which is delivered by Human Study e.V., has recently been reconfirmed as a ISPO Category II professional program in prosthetics and orthotics.
Twenty P&O technicians from Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia and Serbia have successfully completed the distance learning program. In December 2012, during a formal graduation ceremony at Kerschensteiner Vocational School Centre in Munich, the Human Study diplomas and certificates “Professional Orthopaedic Technologist” were awarded to graduates who successfully completed the internationally acknowledged education for orthopaedic technicians with the final exam of the correspondence degree course “orthopaedic technologist”. Ten of those students completed their exam in the workshop of the Kerschensteiner Vocational School Centre in Munich as the first generation two years ago had also done. The exams were done under the directives of the ISPO-exams category II and the requirements of the “Don Bosco University” – the initiator of the project, and graduates will receive an ISPO Category II certificate.
The twenty students, who have already at least 5 years of practical experience, are the second generation of orthopaedic technicians, able to achieve a qualifying professional education in prosthetics and orthotics in the blended learning program implemented by Human Study e. V.
